FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

CAN I BE PUT ON YOUR WAITLIST?
As of 1/1/18, we are no longer utilizing a waitlist as we breed on a small enough scale that it's difficult to provide everyone with what they may need. Instead, we will be posting our available pups, and taking deposits to hold the animal until it's ready to go to its new home.
WHAT IS YOUR PRICING?
Our rats and female mice will ONLY be available in same sex pairs.

Rats:
$45 per pair (Includes homecoming package)

Mice:
$15 per female pair/ $12 for FMBA members
$8 per male/$5 for FMBA members

Hamsters:
$15 per animal
AT WHAT AGE CAN I ADOPT A RAT/MOUSE/HAMSTER?
Our mice are weaned at 3.5-4 weeks of age and will stay with their same sex litter mates until 6-8 weeks when they will be ready for reservations and to go to their new homes. We will sometimes have older animals available as well.

Our rats are weaned at 4-5 weeks of age, and will spend time with adults and siblings of the same sex until between 8-10 weeks of age when they are available to go to their new homes. We will very rarely have older animals available as well.

Our hamsters are weaned between 3.5-4.5 weeks of age and will be ready for new homes between 6-8 weeks of age.
WHY ONLY PAIRS?
Rats and mice are social animals. To ease the transition from one home to the next, to keep animals from being alone during quarantine, and to aid in introductions to existing animals, we find it best to only sell animals in same sex pairs or groups.

Male mice cannot be housed together or they will become territorial and fight, causing injury and even death. This makes them a better candidate if you prefer just a single animal.
